The Problem:
In Mississippi, 46.4% to 68% of minority families live below the poverty line, depending on the county. For many youths, poor life decision making is a consequence of economic desperation. Theft, larceny, burglary, drug activity, and even human trafficking are symptoms of a larger disease: generational poverty. Minority children growing up in these environments face declining health, poor academic achievement, increased drop-out rates, and an alarming likelihood of incarceration. According to America’s Health Rankings, children who experience poverty for one year or more are significantly more likely to remain in poverty into adulthood.
The Vision:
N.U.B.I.A.N.’s Future Millionaire Academy is a bold, 10-month initiative that introduces real-world stock market investing education into Title 1 schools across Mississippi. Our mission is to replace hopelessness with ownership. We believe that by teaching students to own stocks instead of only buying sneakers, we can spark a radical mindset shift—from consumerism to wealth-building.
